The Health Records Officers” Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) successfully organized a two days Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for Health Records and Information Management Practitioners in the South-West zone.
The Registrar/CEO of HRORBN, Alhaji Babagana Mustapha, was represented at the event by Mr. Abubakar Magaji Giddandikko, Assistant Director and Head of the Planning, Research and Statistics Department of the Board.
The program, which took place at HIMAN Secretariat, Government Estate, Ilekun, Oda Road Akure, Ondo State between 17th and 18th of September, 2025 brought together stakeholders from across the healthcare sector. It provided a platform for participants to strengthen their knowledge, upgrade their skills, and exchange ideas on the Global Best Practices in Health Information Management. The event featured paper presentations, technical discussions, and interactive sessions designed to enhance HIM Practitioners’ competence and improve service delivery.
In attendance were senior Government officials, notably the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Ministry of Health Dr Adeniran Ayotunde Ikuomola, the Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB) Dr Ayodele Adiji, Chairman Association of Health Records and Information Management practitioners of Nigeria (AHRIMPN) of Ondo, Osun, Lagos and Ekiti, , alongside other dignitaries and professionals.
The CPD program is in line with HRORBN’s statutory mandate to promote excellence in Health Records and Information Management, foster continuous professional growth, and support innovations that will raise the standard of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
By organizing this program, HRORBN has once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing the practice of health information management and ensuring that professionals are adequately equipped to meet the evolving demands of the nation’s healthcare system.
