PUBLIC RELATIONS 2023 ANNUAL REPORT
Introduction:
Public Relations are the strategic communication from an organization to the public to maintain or cultivate public image and/or respond to public discourse. In order words, they are the image makers. The unit will strive to create an innovative communication strategy that will enhance the image of the Board and its activities.
Preamble:
The Unit is in charge of creating and executing a PR strategy that will help the Board to cultivate a positive reputation through various unpaid or earned channels and formats, including press, social media, and in-person engagements. It is the duty of the Public Relations to defend the reputations of the Board during crises that threaten their credibility and otherwise. The PR Unit serves as a link between the Board and the general public. We are ready to provide timely publicity and innovative communication through the highest level of professionalism and experience of the Boards activities in line with the mandate.
Staff Strength:
The Unit has six (6) staff strength
Function of the Unit:
- This includes acquiring and winning public support for the Board through constant promotion of the Board activities in social media and other media outlet.
- Maintaining a positive reputation and a strategic relationship with various stakeholders.
- Working with local and national news reporter and media channels.
- Developing and preparing content and documents for internal and external communication.
- And making alternative plans in the event of crises.
Achievements:
- Production of HRORBN News Magazine
- Media coverage of coordinators Retreat/Implementation of international disease classification, e-health records 2023.
- Newspaper daily review.
- Prompt written and release of the Registrar/CEO festival messages (Salah, Easter, Christmas and New Year messages).
- Furnishing the website designer with the right and necessary messages and pictures that was placed on Board redesigned website.
- News report and publicity of the entire courtesy visit embarked by the Registrar/CEO on social media.
- Liaising with the top management staff to promote activities of the board in line with the mandate.
- Assist to compile all the 2023 HIM inductees.
- Having good working relationships with the departmental heads and the entire staff for ease access to information.
Training:
No staff of the Unit attends training during the period under review.
Goals and Objectives:
- Cultivate and sustain a favourable image, manage interactions with important stakeholders, and effectively transmit messages to intended audiences
- To inform the general public about the activities of the Board in line with the mandate and core value.
- To build a cordial relationship with the media and the general public.
- Keep stakeholders, influencers, and publics well-informed and up to date.
- Educate the public and modify perceptions.
- Increase word-of-mouth by creating social objects.
- Promote smooth functioning of the HIM Profession and achievement of the Boards goals.
- Build a corporate image and create a favourable impression for the products and services offered by the Board.
