The Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) has trained its top management staff, heads of departments, and unit heads on the seamless administration of digital processes as part of efforts to align with the Federal Government’s e-governance and digital transformation agenda.
The one-day training, organized by Brietek Computers in collaboration with the Board’s Human Resource Management Department, was held at the National Hospital Trauma Centre, Abuja.
Declaring the training open, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of HRORBN, Alhaji Babagana Mustapha, urged participants to embrace digitalization as a critical tool for improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in public administration.
He emphasized that the Federal Government’s directive on e-governance requires Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to migrate from manual processes to paperless and automated systems, noting that HRORBN must lead by example as the regulatory body for Health Information Management professionals in Nigeria.
Alhaji Babagana charged the Board’s ICT personnel to play a leading role in ensuring the successful implementation of the digitization process across all departments and units.
The training focused on electronic file management, digital approval processes, data security, workflow automation, virtual collaboration tools, and change management strategies to facilitate staff adaptation to digital operations.
Facilitators from Brietek Computers provided practical demonstrations on the use of digital platforms for administrative processes, reporting, correspondence, and records management.
The Registrar commended the organizers for the timely initiative and assured staff of management’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure to sustain the Board’s digital transformation efforts.
He also directed all departments to commence a phased migration to digital processes, with the ICT Unit serving as the coordinating body for technical support and implementation.
The training forms part of HRORBN’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations, strengthen accountability, and enhance service delivery to Health Information Management professionals nationwide.
