As part of ongoing efforts to align with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda, the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) has commenced training for staff at its Head Office on the use of its newly introduced Human Resource (HR) Portal.
Speaking at the opening of the training, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of HRORBN, Alhaji Babagana Mustapha, represented by the Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics Department, Mr. Abubakar Magaji Gidan Dikko, described the initiative as a major step towards improving efficiency in the Board’s human resource management processes.
He noted that the deployment of the HR Portal is in line with the Federal Government’s directive on the digitalization of public service operations, adding that the platform will automate key HR functions, reduce manual processes, and enhance service delivery across the Board.
The Registrar urged participants to actively engage during the training, take advantage of the opportunity to learn the new system, and seek clarification where necessary to ensure seamless implementation. He thereafter declared the training open.
The training, facilitated by ICT consultants from Brietek Computers, exposed participants to the various features of the portal, including personnel records management, leave administration, performance appraisal, and employee self-service functions. The sessions also provided practical demonstrations to equip staff with the skills required for effective use of the platform.
In her remarks, the Head of the ICT Unit, Hajia Habiba Salihu Umar, expressed appreciation to the Registrar/CEO and the Top Management Committee for approving the initiative. She encouraged staff to embrace the new system, noting that technology-driven processes are essential for improved productivity, accountability, and efficient service delivery.
Participants commended the initiative, expressing confidence that the HR Portal will simplify administrative processes, strengthen record management, and facilitate quicker processing of staff-related requests.
The introduction of the HR Portal underscores HRORBN’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve internal operations, promote transparency, and build a more efficient and responsive workforce.
